Foreman Burns

Foreman Burns

A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the Sept. 13, 1956, Lowell Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Resigns As Lowell night Watchman

Ike Tuttle took over night watchman duties in Lowell this week, succeeding Forman Burns who resigned to accept a job as janitor at Lowell grade school.

Burns was a competent night watchman, employed here since January 1. His only reason for favoring the janitor job was higher wages.

Tuttle has been employed by the town board as an auxiliary officer, for both day and night duty since the first of the year.
