Son of Former Lowell Resident Killed in Jet Plane Crash Last Week
Lowell friends received news of the death of Capt. Forrest H. Fegan, 29, of Kankakee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Fegan of Chicago. The Fegans resided here during the 1920's when Mr. Fegan served as grain inspector at the Schneider elevator.Captain Fegan was one of two flyers killed in the crash of a jet training plane last Thursday at Wichita, Kansas. He was the instructor. Capt. Fegan, a veteran of European combat in World War II, held the distinguished flying cross, the air medal with five oak leaf clusters, and the Purple Heart medal.
Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Pearl, and two sons, Michael, 3, and Forrest, 2.
