This November 15, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 4:
    M/Sgt. and Mrs. Frank Corns have been here for a visit with his parents, the Robert Corns. He was recently discharged after spending three years overseas. Following a visit with relatives at Watertown, N.Y., they will return here to reside.

The following article from the Hammond Times was dated 3-26-85, and can be found in the Local History Files at Lowell Public Library (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 1, page 31):
    Corns, Frank E. -- age 63, of Lowell, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 25, 1985 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Sheets-Love Funeral Home, 604 East Commercial Ave., Lowell.

The following article from an unknown source was dated 3-27-85, and can be found in the Local History Files at Lowell Public Library (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 1, page 34):
    CORNS, FRANK E. -- Age 63, of Lowell, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 25, 1985. Survived by: wife, Barbara; 3 brothers, Marshall (Joan) Corns of Merrillville, Orville (Doreen) and Edgar (Darlene) both of Lowell; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lorene (Norman) Cloninger of Lowell, Mrs. Cordelia (Clay) Hatler of Lansing, Illinois, Mrs. Mildred (Howard) Holtz of Lowell. Funeral services will be conducted from the Sheets-Love Funeral Home, 604 East Commercial Avenue, Lowell, 1 p.m., Thursday, March 28. Rev. Edgar Smith officiating. Burial, West Creek Cemetery, Lowell. Visitation, 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Corns was a retired custodian for the Tri Creek School Corporation, World War II veteran, member of the VFW Post #6841 of Lowell, member and past commander of the Indiana Department of Am Veteran Commission and received the Sagemore Award of the Wabash from former Governor Otis Bowen and member of the Lowell Church of Christ.
