FUNERAL TODAY FOR FRANK FRASHOUR, 89
Funeral services will be held today, June 17, at 2 p.m. in the Hebron Church of Christ for Frank Frashour, 89, who passed away Tuesday in a Gary hospital. Interment will be in the Lowell cemetery in charge of John Eskridge.Two unidentified newspaper articles were also found in a scrapbook owned by Lowell Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Frank Frashour, 89, Laid to Rest
Frank Frashour, 89, passed away June 15, at the Gary Methodist hospital. He became ill on Memorial Day at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Merrill Cleaver, and was hospitalized the following week for treatment. Death came following the amputation of a leg.Born in Michigan, the son of William and Anna Frashour, he came to this community when an infant with his widowed mother, who later became Mrs. Anna Frashour Haskell. Frank married Addie Worley, who passed away two and one half years ago.
Farming was his lifetime occupation. Since the death of his wife he had spent his time visiting in the homes of his children.
Funeral services were held on June 17th at 2 p.m., in the Hebron Christian Church with the pastor Logan Dunham, officiating. He was laid to rest beside his wife in the Lowell cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of John Eskridge of the Weave Funeral Home.
Survivors include two sons Ray of Gary, and Melford of Clio, Mich.; seven daughters, Mrs. Merrill Cleaver of Lowell; Mrs. Charles Berdine of Hebron; Mrs. Archie Pritchard, Mrs. Arthur Wilson, Mrs. Duke Hinkle of Merrillville; Mrs. Ernest Ashby of Anderson, and Mrs. Raymond Davis of Los Angeles.
RITES FOR FRANK FRASHOUR HELD AT HEBRON CHURCH
Services were held today (Thursday) at the Hebron Church of Christ for Frank Frashour, 89, who passed away Tuesday at Methodist hospital, Gary. After spending most of his life in Hebron, he had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Merle Cleaver, in Lowell.Surviving with Mrs. Cleaver are six other daughters: Mrs. Maudie Ashby, Mrs. Ruby Wilson, Mrs. Ida Berdine, Mrs. Ina Davis, Mrs. Margaret Hinkle and Mrs. Lila Pritchard and sons, Raymond and Milford Frashour.
Burial, under the direction of Weaver's funeral home, was made in Lowell cemetery.
