The following January 14, 1932, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 6:

    SURPRISE BIRTHDAY DINNER

    A surprise birthday dinner was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fursman, Sunday, January 17, 1932, in honor of Mr. Fursman's birthday. Everyone brought well filled baskets and enjoyed the big turkey dinner. The afternoon was spent in playing cards, pitching horseshoes and visiting. At a late hour in the afternoon everyone departed wishing Mr. Fursman many more happy birthdays.

    Mr. Fursman was presented with two beautiful decorated Angel Food cakes.

    Those present: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Uhter and family; Mr. and Mrs. Jud Brannon; Mr. and Mrs. Andy Holton and son, Raymond; Mr. and Mrs. L. Head and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. John Zickmund and family; Mr. and Mrs. Jes Stowell and family; Mr. and Mrs. George Stowell and grandson; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fursman.
