The following article appeared in the January 25, 1934, issue of the Lowell Tribune (page 1, column 6):

    GEORGE BECKER IS CALLED

    George Becker, who has been in poor health for a number of years, passed away at his home, northeast of Lowell, Saturday morning at the age of 66 years. The cause of his death was apoplexy. He was born and raised here and was a man who had a host of friends who regret to hear of his death.

    Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Crown Point on Monday and interment was made in Maplewood cemetery in that city.

    He is survived by one son, Laurence and a daughter, Minnie; two brothers, John, of Lowell, and Nick of Crown Point, five sisters, Mrs. Alex Turner, Mrs. Frank Potter, Mrs. W.S. Nichols, and Mrs. Otto Kraus, of Lowell, and Mrs. Rinkenberger, of Hammond.
