GEO. BELSHAW TO COMPETE IN OLYMPIC GAMES

LAKE COUNTY TO HAVE REPRESENTATIVE AT WORLD-WIDE EVENT IN BERLIN

It is not generally known that Hobart has an athlete who is eligible to compete in the World Olympic games which this year will be held in Berlin, Germany.

Coach George Belshaw received word last Monday that he has been appointed a member of the United States Olympic Wrestling team, which will compete for honors in the coming events. There will be 14 wrestlers, seven different weights, with two men in each weight class. They will leave on Sunday for New York and will sail on Wednesday of next week for Germany.

The competitive events include track, swimming, gymnastics, boxing, wrestling, weight lifting, baseball, basketball, soccer; also girls' athletics, track, swimming, art, painting, handwork, etc.
    -- Hobart Gazette.

Coach Belshaw is a grandson of Mrs. W.H. Belshaw, of Shelby, and is well known in Lowell. His many friends here hope he may return from the Olympic games with many honors for himself and the country he represents.
