This August 9, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found page 1, column 5:

George Cron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cron of Cedar Lake, enlisted in the Marine Corps July 23rd and left July 26 for the San Diego, California training base. The Crons have another son, Bobby Dean, at home.
