George Nelson Schramlin (1886-1925)
- George Nelson Schramlin, son of William and Martha Schramlin, was born near Momence, Ill., September 13th, 1886, and departed this life June 25th, 1925, at the age of 38 years, 9 months and 12 days.
He grew to manhood on the old home farm near Momence and here his life was spent until about 6 years ago; since then he has lived in Schneider, Indiana.
In May 1909 he was united in marriage to Elsie Johnson, of Chicago, Ill. To this union was born three children, William, Helen and Carl Nelson who died in infancy.
Besides the wife and two children he leaves his father, one sister, Mrs. Mae Hess, of Hammond, Indiana, one aunt, Mrs. George Rogers, of Chicago, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his departure.
Nelson always having been in the best of health, his sudden death from acute indigestion comes as a shock to the community.
He was a kind, good hearted father and husband and his ever-ready smile will be greatly missed by his family and those with whom he came in daily contact.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Schneider Saturday at 2 P.M. Rev. Gleason, pastor of the Lake Prairie church, preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in Shrontz cemetery near Momence. Undertaker Weaver had charge of the burial service.
