George W. Brandon (1844-1880)
DIED.
In Pottowatomie township, Feb. 6, 1880, after a long illness, George W. Brandon, aged 36 years.Deceased was born in Columbiana county, Ind., in 1844, and from there moved to Lake county, Ind., in 1851. He removed to Kansas in 1867, and saw three years' service in war time, in the 12th Indiana volunteers. He was married in 1866 to Miss Ursulo Moore and leaves a wife and four children. He was a brave and gallant soldier, an honored and trusty citizen, and faithful and loving husband, and although tortured by a painful and lingering disease, he met death with fortitude and patience. This county has lost a good citizen and his neighborhood an industrious and worthy farmer. His funeral took place Sunday from his house, and a large number were present to pay tribute to the dead. -- Burlington (Kansas) Patriot.
