The following unidentified newspaper article (ca. 1903/4) was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:

From the Crown Point Papers we learn that Mabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holmes, and George, son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Iliff, were married at that city on Nv. 23 by Rev. T.H. Ball. The young people are esteemed and industrious, and that their married life will be a happy one there is no doubt. They will reside on the Holmes farm near Plum Grove. Their friends wish them much joy and prosperity. We join them.
