George Wyverly
- George Wyverly an old and respected citizen of West Creek township, Lake county, Indiana, died at 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, 1900. He has been in poor health for some time. At the time of his death he was 75 years old. He served in the Mexican War and was a member of Captain John Smith's company which went from Crown Point. In addition to his monthly pay for his service in the war he was given a land warrant which he located and built for himself and his family the home, where he lived and died. He was a quiet and inoffensive man and a good citizen. He leaves his wife and several grown children to mourn him. His funeral occurred from the German Methodist church in West Creek township at 10 a.m. Sunday, December 20, 1900. Rev. Dismyer, of Crown Point, preached the funeral discourse. Interment in the cemetery adjoining the church.
