The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Funeral Sunday for Mrs. Phelps Hull, 73 Former L.H.S. Teacher

Mrs. Gertrude (Matteson) Hull, 73, passed away Wednesday, October 5, at Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., following a long illness.

Wife of the late Samuel Phelps Hull of Lowell, She was formerly a teacher at Lowell high school. Mrs. Hull was a member of the Half-Century club of the University of Wisconsin, and also of the Episcopalian church.

She is survived by two daughters, the Misses Edith and Jane Hull, both of Ft. Lauderdale, also a sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Pulver of Lowell.

Rev. E.L. Worley will officiate at memorial services, which will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 9, in the Sheets Funeral Home. Interment will be made in the Lowell cemetery, beside her husband.
