    Invents Valve Adjustment Tool

A valve adjustment tool, invented by S/Sgt. Giles W. Viers, Schneider, who is stationed at Wichita Falls, Texas, at the academic training pool, was credited by school headquarters officials in an announcement this week with not only saving time in adjusting aircraft engine valves, but with simplifying the task for less experienced mechanics. A test there last month revealed that Viers' disc gadget could be used to set valves in 49 minutes while the conventional method required 91 minutes. The tests were made on two R-2600-13 engines installed on a B-25-C medium bomber.
