This July 13, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:

    Finishes Training Course

    Glen Miller, A.M.M. 3/c, who received his air crew wings following graduation from a course of training at Jacksonville, Fla., last week arrived home Saturday morning for a 15-day visit with his parents, the Eldon Millers, and sister, Margery. Upon completion of his leave, he will return to Norfolk, Va., naval air base.
The following Sept. 14, 1944, Lowell Tribune information was found on page 4 column 2:
    The Millers' other son, Glenn, A.M.M. 3/c, who is serving with the U.S. navy, has been transferred to a base in New York, and is awaiting orders for overseas duty
This February 8, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Miller were taken completely by surprise last Friday night when their son, A.M.M. 3/c Glen E. Miller phoned his sister, Mrs. William Nichols, Jr., while the Millers were spending the evening there. Back in Rhode Island after spending two months in the Panama Canal Zone for further training, Glen made the call from Quonset Point at a time when he could talk to all the members of his family, which he had previously arranged with his sister. Another sister, Margery, also got in on the conversation.
    The Millers' other son, Gerald, F.c. 3/c, is still stationed on Treasure Island, California, as far as is known, where he is awaiting assignment to duty in the Pacific.
This April 19, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 3:
    The Eldon Millers were surprised Saturday morning about 1:30 a.m. upon answering a knock at the door to find their son, Glen standing there. He was enroute to San Francisco from Rhode Island, and had a few hours layover in Chicago. While here he visited the William Nichols family, also, before going back to Chicago, where he had to report at 8:30 a.m. Glen is with the U.S. navy and spent five months in Panama. He had been in Rhode Island since January.
This December 20, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 6:
    Glen E. Miller, A.M. 3/c, of the U.S. Navy, youngest son of the Eldon Miller's is home on a twenty-two day furlough. Glen has been in the Navy since June, 1943, and hopes to have enough points by next spring for a discharge.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the January 3, 1946, issue, page 2, column 1:
    Glen E. Miller, aviation machinist's mate, third class, USNR, Lowell, Ind., is attached to Air Transport Squadron 4 based at the Naval Air Station at Oakland, Calif.
    Through the war and the months following Japan's surrender, Squadron 4, heavy maintenance squadron for the Pacific wing of the Naval Air Transport Service Command, has kept the giant Skymasters used by the NATS in perfect flying condition.
This March 14, 1946, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 7, column 3:
    The Eldon Millers and daughter, Margery, had a most pleasant trip to San Bernardino, California, this past month. There they visited their son and brother, Gerald and wife. Glen, A.M.M. 3/c, rated two week ends at the time and all enjoyed a most happy time. Many interesting places were seen including the Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert.
This April 25, 1946, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Glenn Miller arrived home Sunday after receiving his discharge from the Navy at Shoemaker, Calif.
