Grace Sturdevant Kinne

Grace Sturdevant Kinne
(Mrs. Arthur Kinne)

A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the Dec. 7, 1956, Star, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
Crown Point loses virtually a lifetime resident in the passing of Grace Sturdevant Kinne, 71, who died Tuesday afternoon in her home at 427 West North Street. She had been in ill health for some time.

Grace came from Lansing, Michigan, her birthplace, with her family when she was three years old.

Last of her immediate family since the death a year ago of an older sister, Pearl, she leaves with her husband, a mason contractor, three daughters; a son, Samuel; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Ross MacKenzie and Mrs. Gladys Gremel of Crown Point and Mrs. Samuel Wallace of Gary.

W.C. Brooks, pastor from Tinley Park, Illinois, will officiate for a 2 o'clock service Friday afternoon in Linton-McColly funeral home here. Salem cemetery will be the place of burial.
