"Reno" Rouse Dies Suddenly in Florida; Funeral Friday
The Schneider-Lowell communities were saddened by the sudden death Saturday, March 3, of Grover C. "Reno" Rouse, 69. He passed away at Punta Gorda, Fla., where he and Mrs. Rouse were spending the winter."Reno" was born in Kankakee, Ill., in 1886 and came to this vicinity in 1906. He was widely known, having been a school bus operator for a number of years. He also was in the trucking business and for many years he has owned Rouse's Restaurant at Schneider. He was a popular member of the Kankakee Valley Saddle Club and held membership in the Gary Masonic Lodge 677 FAM.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis and a brother, Harry Rouse of Schneider.
Masonic Rites will be conducted at 8 o'clock Thursday evening in the Eskridge Funeral Home under the auspices of the Gary Masons. Rev. E. L. Worley will officiate at memorial services in the Eskridge Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9. Interment will be in the Lowell Cemetery.
