This February 18, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 4:

    CORP. HAROLD KENNEY MARRIED LAST THURSDAY

    Corp. Harold Kenney, son of Denzil H. Kenney, Lowell, and Miss Georgia Simmons of Point Lebanon, Pa., were married last Thursday at the home of the bride's parents.

    The groom was born and reared here and is a graduate of Lowell high school and Valparaiso university. He has been a member of Uncle Sam's armed forces for the past several months and is now stationed in the Adjutant General's office at New Orleans, La.

    The young couple are here visiting with the groom's father, Denzil H. Kenney and his wife, and other relatives and friends.


The following July 20, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4, column 2:

    Graduated from New Orleans Air Base

    New Orleans, La., July 16 - (Special) - Harold D. Kenney, son of Denzil H. Kenney of Lowell, has been graduated from the Transportation Corps Officer Candidate School at the New Orleans army air base, and has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the army of the United States.

    Lieutenant Kenney attended Lowell high school and Valparaiso university. Prior to induction he was a payroll clerk with Todd and Brown, Inc., LaPorte.

    The officer was assigned to active duty with the Transportation Corps immediately after receiving his commission. The mission of the Transportation Corps is to transport soldiers and war materials to theaters of operations throughout the world.

    Harold was here last week for a few days visit enroute to a port of embarkation in the east.


This July 12, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 3:
    Harold Kenney writes his parents, the Denzil Kenneys, that he has been promoted to 1st lieutenant. He is stationed at the Port of Embarkation office in Boston, where he has been for some time.

This Lowell Tribune article was found in the January 3, 1946, issue (page 2, column 2):
    Lt. and Mrs. Harold Kenney are here visiting his father, Denzil Kenney and wife. They have been at Boston, but Lt. Kenney will go from here to San Francisco.

This March 7, 1946, Lowell Tribune article wsa found on page 6, column 3:
    Lt. Harold Kenney was here several days last week visiting his father, D.H. Kenney, and wife. He has just been discharged from the service at Camp Atterbury. He has gone to Pittsburg, Pa., where his wife and baby have been staying.
