Harold Hayden
- Harold Hayden, 61, lifetime resident of Lowell, passed away at the Veterans' Hospital in Wood, Wis., early Wednesday morning. A week ago Harold attended church and was apparently well, although he suffered a kidnay ailment. He became critically ill with pneumonia and other complications on Saturday and his brothers and sisters, Harry Hayden and wife of Harvey, Ill., Mrs. Al Forney and husband of Hammond, and Herbert Johnson and wife of Lowell, spent the week end at his bedside. Another brother, Kenneth Johson, resides in Chicago. A member of Lowell Post 101, American Legion, Harold was a familiar figure on the streets of Lowell throughout the month of August each year when he assisted the Legionnaires with their annual Labor Day celebration ticket sales. He served with the army during World War I. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Seigel Hayden. Mrs. Hayden was the former Laura Nichols. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but services will be held at the Weaver Funeral Home where relatives and friends may call for further information.
