Harriet "Hattie" Buckley

The following undated, unidentified newspaper article was found in a copy of Helen Craft's Scrapbook at the Lowell Public Library:
    Hattie Buckley, daughter of John and Harriet Buckley, was born on May 23rd, 1867, and died Feb. 3rd, 1896, aged 28 years, 9 months and 10 days. She was taken with consumption and suffered patiently for months with this lingering disease. During the last few weeks of her life she had a great "desire to part and be with Christ which is far better." She died praying for the Lord to take her home. She asked her friends to meet her in heaven. She united with the Methodist church December 20th, 1893, and continued a faithful member to the end of her life. She leaves father, mother one brother and two sisters, who "sorrow not as those who have no hope."

    The funeral was held from the M.E. church Wednesday morning at 11:00 o'clock, Rev. J.B. Sites officiating.
