Harry Letchon

Harry Letchon

The following June 28, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 5:

HEARS FROM BROTHER FIRST TIME IN FIVE YEARS

Gus Letchon was made very happy Monday when he received a letter from his brother, Harry, a resident of Avoron, Greece, where both men were born. Since the time the Germans invaded Greece, Gus' brother said that conditions there were very bad, and every citizen of the small town where he lives is in need of clothing and food. He said in his letter that he and his family were well in spite of the hardships they have endured.

Mr. Letchon is arranging to send clothing and other articles to his brother, and says that if anyone in this community has any cast off clothing in wearable condition, that they might wish to send to these unfortunate people, he will see that it gets to its destination.

Anyone having such articles of clothing would be doing a worthy deed if they would get in touch with Mr. Letchon so he can arrange to pick it up
