Funeral Saturday for Mrs. Hattie Schmal
Memorial services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Weaver Funeral Home for Mrs. Frank (Hattie Griesel) Schmal, 81, who passed away at 2 a.m. this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.A. (Lila) Clark, with whom she had made her home for the past year when failing health forced the closing of the family home on North Nichols Street.She was a lifelong resident of Cedar Creek and West Creek townships. Her husband, a prominent area farmer, preceded her in death 18 years ago. Mrs. Schmal was a member of the Lowell Church of Christ and the West Creek community social club.
Survivors include a daughter and son, Mrs. Clark of Lowell, and Forrest of Highland, and two step-daughters, Mrs. John A. Taylor of Lowell and Mrs. Bertha Blosser of Lima, Ohio; two grandchildren, Mrs. W.T. Jones and Mrs. Wm. McLellan; and four great grandchildren, all of Lowell. Also a half sister, Mrs. Raymond McCarty of Lowell, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
