    HELEN BEKO NOW IN NORTH AFRICA WITH RED CROSS

    Safe arrival at the Red Cross post in North Africa was announced on Monday from the Washington, D. C. headquarters of the American Red Cross of 37 more Red Cross workers to augment the staff already there. Two young ladies from Lake county, Helen Beko, staff assistant, of Gary, and Marjory J. Bomberger, rest home director, of Hammond, are among the group.

    Miss Beko, staff assistant, 1637 Van Buren St., Gary, was graduated from Gary high school and Purdue university. For the past year and a half she has been employed as history and physical education teacher by Lowell District high school. She is a sister of Mary Agnes Beko of Gary.

    Marjory J. Bomberger, rest home director, 22 Glendale Park, Hammond, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Bomberger of that city. She received her B.A. degree from Western College and attended the University of London, England, later taking her M. A. at the University of Chicago. Since 1938 she has been assistant to the director of activities at the International House in Chicago. She spent much of her time on the Continent and in the British Isles.
