Henry Sylvester

Henry Sylvester

The following unidentified newspaper article, hand-dated 1941, was found in a scrapbook owned by Harriet Hoevet Bennett:

    Celebrate 55th Year

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sylvester of Wakefield were honored with a sumptuous dinner and afternoon's program and song fest in the Methodist church basement Monday in recognition of their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary.

Over 60 relatives were present, consisting of their 11 children and their families, except one grandchild. The dinner was served at one long table, decorated for the occasion.

During the program hour, Mrs. Dan Otto, a daughter, gave an original reading in which she recited some fond memories of her parents and the children in their youthful days that was greatly enjoyed by all.

Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester, who had lived for so many years east of Wakefield, beyond Hillside district, now, reside on a farm along Highway 77, east of Milford. They enjoy fine health and look forward to celebrating many more birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
