A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Cunningham Fuel Co. Buys Out Johnson Oil

Robert Hayden, who has been local distributor for the Johnson Oil Company since March 1953, has sold out to Herbert Cunningham.

Mr. Cunningham, owner of the Cunningham Fuel Company at 108 Washington Street, previously handled Cities Service oils. He will, however, continue to sell coal. Mr. Cunningham revealed that 70 carloads of coal are sold annually from his bins despite the fact that most local homes have been converted to oil heat.

Mr. Hayden is working at Kenney's Body Shop.
