Civilian Wins Award
Pearl Harbor -- Herman B. Hardy of Lowell, has been awarded a Certificate of Honorable Service by Rear Admiral William R. Furlong, Commandant of Pearl Harbor navy yard.Though no longer at this Pacific naval base, he has been awarded the certificate by Admiral Furlong in recognition of his faithful work and contribution to the war effort while here as a civilian employee. It states that while he worked for the United States navy at Pearl Harbor during the second World War, his services contributed to the mission of this base in support of the United States fleet.
