Hilka Kersten (Kerster?) (1833-1920)
- Mrs. Hilka Kersten* died January 4, 1920, age 86 years, 6 months and 18 days. She was born in Germany June 22, 1833, and came in her younger years to this country. Her home was in Hammond until her husband died, when she came to live with her sister, Mrs. Ralph Avis. After her sister's death she made her home with her niece, Mrs. Fred Dahl, at whose home she passed away.
Mrs. Kerster* leaves to mourn her one sister, Mrs. Tapper, of Hammond; one brother, John Miller, of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held in Hammond, Wednesday at 2 p.m., and interment was made in the Hammond cemetery.
