Howard J. Palmer

The following December 18, 1952, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 2, column 1:
Pacific Fleet Amphibious Force -- Serving aboard the attack transport U.S.S. Bexar is Howard J. Palmer, seaman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. Palmer of route 1, Lowell.

The Bexar is a "mother ship" for amphibious landing craft and has as her primary mission the transportation and landing of troops on enemy held beaches.

A veteran of two tours in Korean waters, including the Inchon landing, the Bexar also counts the Bikini A-Bomb test and many other amphibious exercises among its activites since World War II.
