Lenore Scheid and Howard Jensen Wed In Chicago Ceremony
St. Theodore's church, 62nd and South Paulina, Chicago, was the scene of a pretty wedding ceremony on Thursday afternoon, March 25, 1954, when Miss Lenore Mary Scheid of 6516 South Honore St., Chicago, became the bride of Howard Jensen of Lowell, son of Mr. Norman Jensen of Chicago. The altar was adorned with ferns, white carnations and roses, and candelabra bearing lighted tapers enhanced the setting for the impressive single ring rite solemnized by Father Chambers at four-thirty o'clock in the presence of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Margaret Trehey, organist, rendered a prelude of nuptial music and accompanied Miss Lorraine Bosco as she sang "Ave Maria" and "Dearest Mother."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a ballerina gown of imported white lace. Her veil of illusion was caught to a becoming Juliet cap, and she carried a colonial bouquet of red roses. A strand of cultured pearls complimented her ensemble.
The bride chose her cousin, Miss Marilyn Hoff, as her maid of honor. She was attractive in a gown of ice blue silk faille. Her colonial bouquet was arranged of pink roses.
Norman Jensen, brother of the groom, was best man.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Scheid selected a dress of beige silk. Mrs. Jensen wore a blue silk ensemble.
Dinner at Nantucket, 104th and Western Ave., Chicago, was followed by an open house from 7 to 12 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents.
For honeymoon travel to Lake Geneva, the bride donned a green knitted suit.
Mrs. Jensen, a graduate of Chicago Teachers' College, is a teacher in the Chicago school system. Mr. Jensen, who was discharged from the Navy in December, is a Tribune linotype operator.
The couple is residing at 15432 Myrtle Ave., Harvey, Illinois.
