The following article was found in the "Shelby News" section of the Dec. 5, 1963, Lowell Tribune (page 6, column 1):

The community was deeply saddened last week by the death of Jack Haslett, who passed away on Thursday evening, Nov. 28. Mr. Haslett had been a patient in the Dyer Hospital for about three weeks. Funeral services were conducted Monday, with burial in Orchard Grove Cemetery.
