Jack McAllister

Jack McAllister

The following June 1, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:

    Never Met in Home Town

It took a signal corps station in the Southwest Pacific to bring together Pfc. Harvey W. Hayden, 533 Jackson and Sergt. Jack McAllister, 652 Polk St., Gary. The boys had never become acquainted here, but when each found that another Gary boy was stationed there they looked into the matter and have become bosom pals.

Hayden, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Hayden, has been in service for a year. He is a graduate of Horace Mann high school and was formerly employed in Gary works.

Sgt. McAllister, whose sister, Jean lives at 652 Polk, has been in service two years. He is an alumnus of Lew Wallace.
