The following April 11, 1968, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 7, column 4:
    Builder Second Class James E. Broadaway, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton W. Broadaway of 7744 Virginia Place, Crown Point, Ind., is serving with the U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion-53, at Camp Adenir, Danang, Vietnam.

    The battalion, on its first deployment to Vietnam, supports American and Allied forces with large and small construction and civic action work in the northernmost provinces in Vietnam.
