The following October 25, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 5:
    Frank R. Gard, Wayne D. Walters, Eugene P. Kuhn, Romano J. Giacomini, James L. Wood, Donald W. Saager, Robert L. Thomas, Thomas Marrett and John Tutza were inducted into the Army and James R. Kuyper, Wilfred H. Koepl, John A. Prendergast and Ralph C. Keilman will serve with the Marines.

A December 27, 1951, Lowell Tribune article (page 2, column 1) listed Jimmy Wood as one of many servicemen from the Lowell vicinity arriving home for the holidays.


The March 13, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, columns 4-5:
    Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wood left last Friday to spend the weekend with their son, Jimmy, who is stationed at Camp Gordon, near Augusta, Georgia. Jim completed his basic Army training on March 8th. Roy is enjoying a 10-day vacation from his position as mail carrier, Route 1. During his absence, Harold Heuson is delivering mail to Route 1 patrons.

This March 20, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    When Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wood returned from Camp Gordon, near Augusta, Georgia, last week, their son, Jim, accompanied them home. Jim completed his basic Army training March 8th and concluding a pleasant visit at home, he will leave tomorrow, Friday, via plane, on assignment to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This April 17, 1952, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 2, column 1:
    Jimmy Wood, who recently enjoyed a furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wood, is now stationed in New Mexico where he has been assigned to do clerical work. Jimmy is a graduate of the South Bend College of Commerce. Address: Pvt. James L. Wood, US 55201401, Hdq. & Hdq. Ser. Co., M.P. Group, 8450th AAU, P.O. Box 5300, Sandia Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This June 19, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
    Jim Wood, stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, enjoyed having as his guests, for three and one-half days last week, his parents and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wood and Jeanette. The Woods returned on Tuesday from a pleasant 10-day travel vacation through the southwestern states.
