Jasper M. "Jap" Surprise (1870-1963)

The following April 6, 1963, Lowell Tribune article, found in the "Twenty Years Ago" column, can also be seen in the Local History clipping file at the Lowell Public Library (LH--Vital Stats, vol. 1, p. 54):
    March 28, 1963

    Funeral services were held Monday in the Eskridge Funeral Home at 1:30 for Jasper M. Surprise, age 93. Rev. E.L. Worley officiated. Mr. Surprise, lifelong area resident and farmer passed away in Our Lady of Mercy Hospital Sat., Mar. 23. Survivors include Lillian, his wife; one son, William of Indianapolis; one daughter, Mabel Hayden of Lowell; and four grandchildren. Burial was in the Lowell cemetery.
