Jean Alice Shipman, daughter of Mrs. Catherine and the late Robert F. Shipman of Lowell, became the bride of Harold K. Brown, son of Martin Brown of Whiting. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Wendal Johnston at four o'clock, Saturday afternoon, May 3, in the Community Bible Church, on Route 41, just south of Cook. The attendants were Miss Loretta Banks and Harold Verril of Hammond. Mrs. Neil Jackson rendered three organ selections, "I Love Your Truly," "O Promise Me," and "Because."
The bride wore a beige suit with navy blue accessories and a corsage of red roses. Miss Banks chose a chocolate brown dress with a corsage of pink carnations.
After a lovely wedding supper at the bride's home, the newlyweds left for a short wedding trip to Turkey Run State Park and southern Indiana. When they return they will make their home near Lowell.
