John E. Berleen
- Saturday services at 2 o'clock at Merriam's funeral home have been set for John E. Berleen, 70, whose passing came Wednesday morning, after lingering illness in his home at 515 East Joliet street.
Born and reared in Lowell, he came to Crown Point community with his parents, Peter and Elizabeth Berleen, in 1901 and was graduated from the local high school in 1906. He was employed for 46 years by the Lake County Title company and was a past master of Lake Lodge 157 F. & A.M. He also held membership in Lincoln Chapter 53, Royal Arch Masons.
Besides the boundless satisfaction gained from his home, his family, friends, work and lodge affiliations, John found important interest in the collection of what came to be an outstanding exhibit of Indian relics.
Survivors include his wife Cora; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Collins of Crown Point, and Mrs. Fred Bisselberg, Speedway City.
Rev. L. Humphrey Walz will officiate for the 2 o'clock services which will be followed by a Masonic service members of Lake Lodge 157 will conduct. Burial will be made in Calumet Park.
