FATHER OF MRS. H.J. STOWELL DIES IN CANEY, KANSAS
Mrs. H.J. Stowell received a telegram from Caney, Kansas, Sunday informing her of the death of her father John J. Hayhurst, who passed away that day at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 12 days.The deceased will be remembered by our older residents as he was born near Sheburnville and lived there for a great many years. His parents originally came from Pennsylvania and when they came west settled near Sherburnville.
A great many years ago he moved to Kansas with his wife and six sons, in which state he has since made his home.
Funeral services were held in his home town and the remains were laid to rest beside his wife who passed away several years ago. Mrs. Stowell was unable to attend the funeral.
