The following October 1, 1925 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 4:

    DEATH OF JOHN PATZ

    The sad death of John Patz, a well known and respected resident of Winfield township, occurred last Friday morning at the Sherburne farm between Leroy and Palmer. Mr. Patz had been a tenant of the land for the past number of years. The deceased was forty years old, death being due to pulmonary tuberculosis, of which he has been a sufferer for some time.

    He is survived by his wife and three children, and a host of friends in that neighborhood who mourn the passing of a good husband, father and neighbor.

    The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in this city the last sad rites being attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives of the deceased. The interment was at Maplewood cemetery in this city -- Lake County Star.

    The deceased is also survived by his mother, brothers and sisters, two brothers, August and Frank, residing here.
