A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article (ca. 1900) was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:
    The marriage of John W. Lee, Jr. of Lowell, to Mrs. Jessie Anderson, of Chicago, was announced in this issue as having occurred on November 24. They now reside at Henderson, Texas.
The following unidentified newspaper article (ca. early 1900's) was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:
    Word has been received here of the arrival September 27th of a fine baby girl at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Lee, Jr.
