The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Recently discharged after four years of service with the Army, John W. Staff, son of Arthur Staff of Lowell and Mrs. Ward Blanchard of Porter, a former Sergeant, is now employed at the Chesterton Plastic Company. John spent one year on heartbreak ridge in Korea.
