Jose Garcia
KILLED AT NORTH HAYDEN
Jose Garcia, a Mexican who was employed with the steel laying gang on the New York Central railroad at North Hayden, was killed there last Thursday morning at 7 a.m. Garcia was on his way to work and when a freight train pulled past he attempted to board it, little thinking of the danger he was in, and he fell and was dragged beneath the train. Both his legs were cut off and his head was badly cut. He was started to Lowell for medical aid but died before they reached town.He was about 22 years old and single. His father was located at Indiana Harbor on Monday and he came down Monday night. The father's name is Angel Garcia and [he] works at Indiana Harbor as does an uncle and three cousins. His mother and sister still reside in Mexico.
The remains will be interred in Lowell cemetery today in charge of Weaver and Son.
