    Pvt. Carl Wehle Transferred

    Pvt. Carl Wehle, inducted several months ago, has been transferred from Ft. Benjamin Harrison to Camp Swift, Texas, recently.

The following article from an unidentified newspaper was found in Town Historian Richard Schmal's obituary collection:
    Karl L. Wehle, age 73, of Crown Point, formerly of Cedar Lake, passed away Sun., Feb. 11, 1990, at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Dyer. Survivors include his wife, Jean Park Wehle; one son, Karl (Sherry) Wehle of Crown Point; one daughter, Karly (Robert) Munch of Lynwood, Ill.; four grandsons, Karl, Shawn, Jeremy and Scott; one granddaughter, Bobby Jo; two great grandchildren, Crystal and Debby; one sister, Lillian Reedy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and one daughter-in-law, Pat Wehle. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Cedar Lake, with Msgr. William Martin officiating. Interment followed at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. A sales representative for Zulian's Beer Distributors, Karl Wehle was a member of American Legion Post 261 in Cedar Lake and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Cedar Lake, and a former member of Cedar Lake AMVETS Post No. 15.
