The following article was found in the February 18, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 2, column 2:

    Lake Village Boy Jap Prisoner

    Word was received by William Parks of Lake Village, last week, that his brother, Kenneth Parks, who had been reported missing in action at Manila, is a prisoner of war and is being held by the Japs in a Philippine Island internment camp. Young Parks has not been heard from personally in over two years.
