The following news item from an unidentified paper was hand-dated March 31, 1946:
- Mr. and Mrs. Burrell Belshaw are parents of a son born at Mercy hospital, Gary, Saturday. Mrs. Belshaw is the former Laura Jane Ragon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.V.* Ragon, and the baby's other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Belshaw.
* NOTE: Mrs. Belshaw's father's middle initial was actually "U" rather than "V."
