A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    LEE DICKINSON, LOWELL NATIVE, DIES IN HAMMOND DECEMBER 13

    Lowell friends are sorry to learn of the death, Thursday, December 13, of Lee A. Dickinson, 78, who passed away at St. Margaret's hospital. Mr. Dickinson was born and reared east of Lowell, on the farm now owned by Ernest Ebert. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Dickinson. For the past 45 years, Mr. Dickinson operated an insurance agency in Hammond.

    Funeral services were conducted Saturday by Rev. Balsley of the First Methodist church, Hammond, and burial was in Elmwood cemetery.

    He is survived by his wife, Ruby; one son, Karl of Peoria, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Patterson of Hammond; one brother, Harry of Fort Wayne; one sister, Mrs. Alma Eastridge of New Albany, and five grandchildren.
