LeRoy Miller
- After 32 months service in Alaska and the Aleutians, Cpl. LeRoy Miller enjoyed a 21-day furlough with his mother, Mrs. W.D. Kingery and husband, here, and with relatives and friends in Chicago. Cpl. Miller left Sunday for Miami, Fla., where, after a short rest period he will be re-assigned to duty.
This February 1, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
- Miami Beach, Fla., Jan 26 -- T/5 Leroy E. Miller, 27, son of Mrs. Grace Kingery of Lowell, has returned from service outside the continental United States and is now being processed through the Army Ground and Services Forces Redistribution Station in Miami Beach, where his next assignment will be determined.
- Cpl. Miller served 32 months as a deisel mechanic in the Asiatic-Pacific theater of operations. While there he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbon with one battle star, the American defense ribbon and the American theater ribbon.
- Before entering the service, Cpl. Miller was employed as truck driver and mechanic. He became a member of the armed forces on Dec. 1, 1941.
