A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the Feb. 14, 1957, Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Memorial Services At Cedar Lake for Auto Crash Victim

    Memorial services were held Tuesday, February 12, at 7 p.m., in the Eller Funeral Home at Cedar Lake for Manfred A. Veteto, 40, of DeMotte, who died at St. Margaret's hospital in Hammond, from injuries suffered in an accident near Schererville two weeks ago. The Rev. Harold Williams and the Rev. Cecil Rhodes officiated. The body then was sent to Litchfield, Ky., for services and burial. Mr. Veteto was an employee of Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. in East Chicago.

    Survivors include his widow, Eunice; two daughters, Bette Carol and Pamela; a son, Albert Lee; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Veteto of Olaton, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Shelby Baize of Lowell and Mrs. Guy Cannon of Olaton, and a brother, Lawrence of Cedar Lake.
