MISS MARLENE COLLINS AND ROBERT TERRANA WED IN IMPRESSIVE RITES SUNDAY
The Presbyterian Church in Crown Point was the setting for the wedding Sunday afternoon, Dec. 2, at 2 o'clock, of Miss Marlene Collins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Collins of Lowell, and Robert Terrana, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Terrana of Hebron.The altar was adorned with arrangement of white carnations and white and pink candles burned in seven-branched candelabra placed on either side, before which the Rev. Thomas H. Adkins officiated at the impressive double ring service.
Mrs. Arthur Edmonson, organist, played a prelude of bridal selections and accompanied Mrs. Ray McIntyre of Fowler as she sang "I Love You Truly" and "The Lord's Prayer."
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a lovely gown of starched white nylon dotted with embroidery, over white taffeta. The fitted sleeveless bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and the very full skirt was cut floor length. Her fingertip veil of nylon illusion cascaded from a bead encrusted Juliet cap and she carried an arm bouquet of red roses.
For her role as maid of honor, Miss Betty Jolson wore pastel blue nylon marquisette. A draped bertha outlined the yoke of illusion. Her gown was also designed with fitted bodice and floor length skirt. A gold wreath adorned her hair and she carried a bouquet of red roses.
Dan Pearson attended the groom as best man and John Kabella, the bride's nephew and William Baldwin served as ushers.
An evening reception for 100 guests was held at the Lowell Community building.
The groom received his schooling in East Chicago, where he is employed at Standard Forge. The bride attended Lowell high school. The couple, who at the present time are at the home of the bride's parents, will honeymoon in California.
