MARSHALL WEAVER TO TAKE UP DUTIES AS ARMY CHAPLAIN
Local Church of Christ Pastor receives Call to Report on May 4th
Marshall N. Weaver, who is serving his second year as pastor of the Church of Christ, received his call to duty as a chaplain the U.S. army last week, and on Sunday informed his congregation that this coming Sunday would end his pastorate here.Mr. Weaver came here from Remington nearly two years ago to assume the pastoral duties of the Lowell church.
He will report for duty at Harvard university on May 4th, for a month's training before being assigned to an army unit. The appointment carries with it a commission as First Lieutenant.
The Weaver family have made many friends during their residence here, and one and all extend them their best wishes. Mrs. Weaver and sons will go to Rockfield, Ind., to stay with her parents for the present.

- A card received by the Thorne Clar[k]s, informs them Marshall N. Weaver, former minister of the Lowell Church of Christ, who has been serving as a Chaplain in the army since leaving the local church, has been promoted to Captain. Captain Weaver is now stationed at Kelly Field, Texas, in the station hospital.

Captain M. N. Weaver and family visited friends here Sunday and Monday. Mr. Weaver, former pastor of the Church of Christ, resigned a year ago to enter the service as Chaplain.
