This portion of an unidentified newspaper article (ca. 1903/4) was found in a scrapbook owned by Betty Burton of Lowell:

The marriage of Miss Mattie Pelton to Mr. George Belshaw of Lowell, Indiana, which occurred at the home of the bride's mother in this city Tuesday, Nov. 29th, at 10:30 a.m., Rev. George S. Evans officiating, was a general surprise to the many friends of the bride here. The wedding was a quiet one, only the immediate relatives and friends being present.

A dainty luncheon followed the ceremony, and the happy couple left on the afternoon train for their new home in Indiana, intending to visit St. Louis and with friends in Illinois on their way. The Journal joins with their many friends here in extending congratulations.
